Kindergarten and Year 4 have been using the Better Buddy Program throughout the year to help reduce bullying and create a caring and friendly school environment. Better Buddies enables younger children to feel safe and cared for while older children feel valued and respected. On Friday 7th June, Kinder and Year 4 shared a delicious picnic together and then enjoyed some fun activities.
KA, KB, KG, KN, KP and KT had an amazing B Day. We saw butterflies, Buzz Lightyear, ballerinas, Batmen, Barbies, builders, bees, a bride and even Bart Simpson. We hope that all the parents who came to watch our parade enjoyed it just us much as we did. Don't forget to come to school on Thursday 11/4/13 dressed up as something starting with the letter "B".
Here are some ideas: Baker, builder, Batman, butterfly, bear, bat, bee, bird, ballerina, Belle, beast, bunny and Buzz Lightyear. See you at 9:30am on the basketball court for a parade! Thank you to those parents and carers who made it to our K-2 Eatser Hat parade helping make it such a successful community event. Thanks also to the P&C, those who contributed to the Easter raffle and Guessing competition and congratulations to those who got to take an Easter basket home. We appreciate the supplies brought in from home to add to the students' masterpieces.
Below are some photos from the day's events, lots of smiles, laughter and dancing supported by our energetic Easter Bunny. Charlie's chickens came for a visit today. The boys and girls in KT had fun watching them and some lucky children even got to have a hold. Thanks Charlie for your very interesting news.
Notes have been sent home this week regarding the Easter Hat Parade on Thursday March 28th. It will be held on the bottom oval (weather permitting) and will commence at 1pm. Parents, relatives and friends are welcome to attend.
Don't forget to send an empty 2L ice cream container to school for your child to create their Easter hat with. We are also accepting donations of decorations for the hats, which will be shared amongst the students. Kindergarten are looking forward to their Easter festivities! Last Wednesday afternoon an information session was held for parents regarding the teaching of literacy and numeracy. As part of that afternoon support strategies were discussed about how parents can help their child learn to read. Attached is a handout from one of our expert reading teachers.
