OMG! The swimming carnival was great! Everyone was screaming and cheering on their house. Last Wednesday the 19th February at Gosford Olympic Swimming Pool, Wamberal Public School held our annual swimming carnival. Some people were scared, some were excited , some were nervous. Overall the day was great.
Students who aren't confident swimmers went into the novelties. Just before lunch we heard over the speaker Mr Downes call all students from Ford and Bradman to go into the inside pool. After half an hour Cawley and Chappell had their oppurtunity to swim in the pool. All students had the chance to swim in two relay races. It was a lot of fun and we displayed great sportsmanship at the end by shaking our competitors hands.
Ready, set, GO! All day long students competed in races. There was freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly and the individual medley. The pool was 50 meters long, so by the end of the race everyone were exhausted. Teachers were the timekeepers at the end of the pool watching the competitors. Friends and family were watching on, cheering, screaming and taking photos. Records were broken, fun was had at Wamberal's wonderful Swimming Carnival.
Thank you for all the parents and teachers for helping out during the day and making it the best day ever!
